Living the Gospel Joyful Part 1

All I can remember about last week is that we gave talks in sacrament meeting.  My topic was "Living the gospel Joyful" based on the talk by Elder Uchtdorf.  I kept thinking about my gospel and life journey's and what moments of my journey have brought me joy or given me the needed guidance or comfort (that consequently motivated me to be joyful in living the gospel).  So I simply shared my journey and some of my experiences along the way.  I told the kids that I they were in my talk with a story about all of them except Sam and that they needed to listen to hear "their" parts.  And they all listened...because I ran out of time and wasn't able to share Kaylee's story.  She noticed, and was very disappointed!  I promised I would tell her story the next time I had the chance.  She is so cute.  Anyway, I always blubber through it all when speaking.  I wish I could contain my emotions a little better!!  If you are interested it is attached.

On to this past week.  We definitely had some fun this week.

First off the Ford's and Lyndsey came down Monday to swim and enjoy the kids day off from school.  We had a lot of fun- I seriously just LOVE hanging out with family.  We don't have to do anything, I just like being with them!

Audrie performed in her Little Mermaid play on Tuesday evening.  It was fun to see her on stage, she just LOVES being up there.  She was one of the chefs and sang in the choir (see attached photo)

This weekend Tyler had his first paint balling experience and LOVED it.  He was sure he wasn't going to like it because he would get hurt, but he was thrilled upon returning and wants to do it as a family.  Not sure if the girls can handle it, but I for one think it would be SO FUN!

While Tyler was at a birthday party on Friday Andy and the older girls got all dolled up for the elementary school Father Daughter dance.  They were so excited!!!!  Well apparently Andy had the wrong weekend written down and the only thing going on at the school was a basketball game....oh the hysteria!  Kaylee LOST all control of her emotions due to the extreme disappointment.  I'm sure Audrie was sad.  Andy did the best thing he knew how and took them out to dinner anyway :)  They even got dessert and grabbed a movie on the way home.  Talk about making lemonade out of lemons, these girls get two daddy daughter dates in a ROW!   (see attached pics- they did some cute selfies)

On Saturday Cami, Shane, Lyndsey, Andy and I were all able to meet up and go to the temple for some sealings.  It was really awseome to be there with my sisters.  The sealer that we had there was quite hilarious and told several stories in between sealings; I thoroughly enjoyed him.  I often get in trouble when I go to the temple with family- but guess what??  I didn't get in trouble at all this time :)  Progress.  Hahaha.  Lyndsey informed me it was the first time we had been together which made it even better.  Andy and I were able to do a bunch of family names which always makes it even more special- I particularly felt the spirit with the first daughter that we sealed together...I can't remember if her name was Sophia or Eva, but it was one or the other.  Pretty awesome stuff!  One other tid bit, I always run into friends when I go to the temple.  Always.  It's really awesome.  As I thought about it while riding home I thought it truly was a foreshadowing of sorts, seeing all the people that you knew as you cross the veil.  A very powerful thought.

Anyway I gotta get moving.  Gym, laundry, bread making, YW planning, balancing the checkbook....let the reality of Monday begin :)
