Strawberry Jam and Green Smoothies

I've been trying to get more veggies in my diet, so I've started having green smoothies every day. Fortunately the kids have really enjoyed them as well :) Kaylee helps me make them and clearly loves them! Little do they know there is like 3-4 cups of fresh spinach in each batch! It's the most simple recipe and seriously tastes great. I was skeptical at first, but I was pleasantly surprised. Recipe: 4 cups raw spinach, 6 oz of vanilla yogurt, 1 banana, and 3 Tbsp milk. Blend in blender for 3 mins or until spinach pureed.

When strawberries go on sale we like to make strawberry jam. Tyler was SO excited to help me that it made my heart pitter patter in excitement! That doesn't happen very often, so I wanted to take full advantage of it. We had a great time! It's hard to tell, but he's using the jar grippers (upside down) to hold the spatula to stir the jam....he had fun and that's all that mattered!

Random story: As all of my sisters will recall when Daddy got home it was a mad rush to see him. Well the story of our home is no different; no matter what we're doing everyone drops everything immediately to see Dad. Kaylee was so excited in this particular instant that she started being silly and sticking her hands in his back pockets. Unfortunately it was easier said than done to remove her hands once they were in there. It was hilarious! Look at that determination!
