Mommy and Daughter Dress up

I had to write to document an outing Audrie and I went on. I had to go get some things from a store yesterday and I asked if anyone wanted to come with me. As soon as I said the word “shopping” she chimed right up and said she wanted to go. We’re not girly or anything are we?

Andy suggested that I should make it into and “Mommy Daughter date,” so I did. When we got there I did my stuff and then asked if Audrie wanted to go see if they had any fancy dresses that she could pick out and try on…just for fun. Her eyes lit up, and you could tell she was thinking that ‘THAT was the BEST IDEA Mom has ever had!’

She was hilarious. She would go through the racks of clothes and find something and giggle, while twirling, and do her princess voice saying something like, “look at this one mom!” After finding a couple of dresses for her to try on, she suggested that we had to find a couple for me to try on. So we headed on over to my section and she started looking for something. As we were picking something out she said, “Mom, look at this one…it’s SOO dramatic.” A little taken back by her use of words I snickered and said, “How old are you again??” She quickly responded very matter of factly, “Five Mom.”
