Strawberry Jam

I ordered 30 lbs of whole frozen strawberries about 6 months ago and finally received the order this week.  We promptly got to work making strawberry jam...and boy did we make strawberry jam.  A LOT of it.  30 lbs goes a LONG way.  We canned 31 full pints of jam and then froze 3 gallon ziplock bags with the left overs.

Tyler was our photographer and these were his best shots!  Audrie was my helper this year and she did a great job.  Tyler has tended to be the one that helps in previous years, but Audrie seemed much more interested this time.  It was great!  I love doing things like this with my kiddos, it's very fulfilling. I feel as if I am taking advantage of them being apart of the journey instead of just telling them, "Hold on," or "As soon as I'm done..." etc.  Good times for sure.

Also slightly random, but I had to shove it in here.  We've had a couple of really wet, rainy days and there was a little pigeon sitting on the windowsill trying to get out of the rain.  Sam was introduced to the birdy friend and just talked and talked to it until it flew away.
