Jesus Is In Our Tummies?

Kaylee must be really paying attention during FHE and her sunbeam lessons. She often comes home and tells us what she learns about. I think she has a wise old spirit because she continues to bring up topics throughout the week and really starts talking to me about them. For example, this Sunday while driving home from church she says (with her little lisp), “Mom, Jesus is in our tummies.” Me raising an eyebrow says, “Oh really?” “Yes, but when we do bad things or say bad things he can’t hear us.” Me putting it all together as quickly as I could, “Oh…I see…” She then continues and laughs as she says, “Actually, I mean Jesus in our hauwts (hearts).” I giggled and we ended there.

Then today as we were making bread she said again to me, very matter of factly, “You know Jesus is in our tummies.” She continued, “and He can talk in our tummies.” I giggled. She looked at me sternly and finished, “He CAN talk in our tummies!” Then in a very sing songy way she said, “but he says, ‘I can’t talk right now.’” It was as if you were supposed to leave a message on an answering machine. It was hilarious. I have tried to correct her because being one of the sunbeam teachers, I know the lesson was on the Holy Ghost. But she keeps going back to this Jesus in our tummies instead of the Spirit in our Hearts…which is what I think she is trying to say.
