Hurricane IKE

This was typical during the hurricane aftermath. It was so hot that everyone would sleep in the living room with all the windows open and the one floor fan we were able to plug in (via other means). Because we retreated to Dallas for a week we only had to deal with 3.5 days (9.5 total)without electricity, but many around us endured for over 2 weeks.

We found life to be so much simpler while home without power. It was truly a life lesson for me recognizing how easily we are distracted in life. The computer wasn't there to piddle around on, neither the tv, or even the option to hop in the car and go to the store...the kids and I just played together without any pressures and we had so much FUN.

My lovely self, with the rope bulging the best part of me.
